(Fans of the Impossible Life) PDF Ý Kate Scelsa Kate Scelsa ✓ 0 Free read I had such high hopes for Fans of the Impossible Life the tag line The story of a girl her gay best friend and the boy who falls in love with both of them caught my attention the moment I saw it and I was expecting some kind of epic bisexual love triangle or possibly even a relationship that developed between all three main characters I'm not usually a fan of love triangles but I would definitely put my irritation to one

Ough There is romance And I confess I m not into three way romances I guess it s like a triangle But where ach part of the triangle is kissing the other partso a REAL triangle But yeah I mean they re teens they re uestioning and I think it was written well BUT I m just not a fan omg kill me before I say that word again of itAlso while I m being a gloom cloud let me do a uick list of what bothered me And the reason it slightly missed out on the 5 stars So Mira has chronic fatigue at the beginning and thenboom It just goes missing Like it literally disappears NOT OKAY Just because your life is going well doesn t mean your illnesses will vanish Mira also is on a diet to help with her fatigue and she kind of just ignores it and scorns her mum I gET THIS I ve gone through copious allergy diets myself and tbh they do work So I felt Mira was really immature about this Her mum really loved her and wanted to help her and Mira was too immature to see that sigh The plot didn t really wrap up at the Date Me end WHICH IS KINDA REAL LIFE But I think it had too many loose threadsbut all that aside this was simply a magical book It s about growing up and sadness and struggling with figuring out who you are It s about love IT S ABOUT SMUSHING READER S HEARTS INTO LITTLE BALLS AND STOMPING ON THEM AND LAUGHING Omg I haven t been thismotionally involved in a book sinceum okay yesterday BUT STILL I don t usually get so attached to contemporaries I m a fantasy geek But this was Comfort And Joy everything I want with sassy and relatable characters and funny dialogueI AM A FANI had to I just didThis is a conversation between Mira and her teacher and I REALLY liked it I liked how it brought attention to the fact thatven if you might like something it still might not be you And you need to live for you or you re going to make yourself miserableSo what were you hidingWell I was in a relationship with someone who had a lot of very grand ideas about life She wanted to travel the world and live out of a suitcase and have these big adventures And I wanted to believe that I could be like her and keep up with her But actually I was resenting her and resenting myself for not just admitting that I wasn t that person I like to travel and see the world but at the nd I want to come home and have a uiet life where I wake up at the same time very day and go to the same place and get to feel like I m doing something worthwhile I received an Advance Reader Copy from the publisher via NetGalley This in no way impacted on my viewWell that was disappointing Like most people I was originally drawn in by the first line of the synopsis This is the story of a girl her gay best friend and the boy in love with both of them However the romance was not between the three characters and was barely Fitness for Geeks: Real Science, Great Nutrition, and Good Health existence What was there between Sebby and Jeremy was destructive and notnjoyable at all I wouldn t ven say you could xactly call it a relationshipI only finished reading this book last night and already you could Cause Of Fear exactly call it a relationshipI only finished reading this book last night and already t remember a lot of it That is not what you want from a book It was a book I forced myself to finish and don t really understand why I didn t DNF itarlier I wasn t bad in the sense that it was a chore to finish rather it was simply boring Nothing kept my attention Out of the various characters we met Mira was one of the only ones I liked and I felt she was brought down by Sebby and was better on her own Sebby was a character who for me ruined the whole book I never liked him from the get go and verything he did made me sort of hate him a little If the book was just Mira and Jeremy with their other friends I might have njoyed it a lot I also had a majot problem with the format of the book It was split between three PoV s Mira Sebby and Jeremy which normally wouldn t bother me However The Game of Love each one was in a different tense The split between 1st 2nd and 3rd tense was so choppy and it ruined the readingxperience Like I ve already said if Mira and Jeremy were the only PoV s it might not have been too bad If this is Scelsa s writing style then I m sorry to say I won t be reading any of her booksAnother thing that annoyed me when I finished the book was how many things weren t tied up or answered What s happening with Rose and Ali Is Talia going to be punished How does Peter fare Do Mira and Julie get along now tc tc I know you tend to get a lot of open nded contemporary YAs these days But This Was Just Taking It Too Far It Seems this was just taking it too far It seems bit lazy as if some of the plot points were just added for shock value and nothing lseYeah so this book was not for me I understand that a lot of people njoyed it but I wasn t lucky nough If you think you can cope with the issues I had then be my guest and I wish you luck The book is fucked up in all the right places and I need to process all the fuckery because hot damn Review to come This is the story of a girl her gay best friend and the boy in love with both of them I don t want to read below that line to know that I really really REALLY want to read Fans of the Impossible LifePlease be good I LOVE the first line of that synopsis This is the story of a girl her gay best friend and the boy in love with both of them The Lady in Pink enough that I m going to ignore how not interested I am in the rest of it because BISEXUAL LOVE TRIANGLE MAYBE. A seriously affecting to me anyway YA novel about three high schoolers messy and intertwined lives biracial Mira who struggles with depression gay or bisexual identification in progress Jeremy who s targeted for bullying because of his gay dads and gay or homoromanticbisexual unclear foster kid and drug user Sebby who met Mira while they were both in inpatient mental health treatment I can t help but interpret their relationship as a shifting polyamorous triad with various levels of sexual and romantic attractionbehavior and passionate friendship between various pairs in a very teenage way where no one s ver 100% sure what s going on xcept they can t stand to be apart I actually really liked that ambiguity and lack of labels here as it felt appropriate to the amount of chaos and self discovery ach character was dealing with Not all of the relationship parts are healthy ither which again feels appropriate to the characters It s the kind of book where you want to scoop up all the main characters in your arms give them hot chocolate and tell them verything is going to be okay and then go yell at their various parents foster parents who are fucking up and MAKE them fix verything they can So I don t know if Scelsa intended the Spirit of the Wolf ending to be ambiguous but I found it to be so yet I cannot help but interpret it in the most positive way possible because that s what I need from this book YMMV 25 starsI originally rated this a 35 but had to drop my rating after I thought about all the problems I had with it Morextensive thoughts will be on my channel and blog Source I received a digital copy of this book for free on a read to review basis Thanks to HarperCollins and Edelweiss This felt a little dangerous this interest in other people It meant that there was something that I needed or at least wanted It seemed to demand some kind of action on my part and I had no idea what was supposed to come next This was a bit of an unusual story and it was written similarly to The Perks of Being a WallflowerI felt uite sorry for A Vineyard Christmas each of the characters in this storyven though she put on a brave face Mira was obviously suffering with depression and the lack of support she received from her parents was awful Poor Sebby also had a lack of support and ven his foster mother didn t seem to care much about him and Jeremy was the victim of bullying to the point where he had no friends at all You better not try to pretend to the boy who was in the psych ward with you for three weeks of our lives that you re the only crazy person sitting here The storyline in this was about Jeremy becoming friends with Mira and Sebby and finally feeling like he had someone to rely on as well as being able to help Mira and Sebby in return The pace in this was uite slow but the underlying messages and Relationships Between The Characters Were between the characters were most interesting part of the storyThere was some complicated romances springing but between these three and there were some mentions of sexual acts See Jeremy girls aren t that hard to please The nding to this was pretty open and could have done with being a little concrete really May we live the impossible life 7 out of 10 So much love for this book Drag ueens mental illness some seriously witty dialogue a PoC lead and ueer characters galore this book is a must But what I love most about Fans is that it isn t afraid to turn brutal and to thrust its characters specially Sebby into a harsh light I went from laughing out loud on an airplane in the beginning of the novel to hurting for all of the characters by the nd Side note I m really conflicted about something that happened in That Scene Toward The End and the way the something was or in this case wasn t dealt with Would love to privately hear someone s thoughts about itBut really Fans is xcellent I had such high hopes for Fans of the Impossible Life the tag line The story of a girl such high hopes for Fans of the Impossible Life the tag line The story of a girl gay best friend and the boy who falls in love with both of them caught my attention the moment I saw it and I was xpecting some kind of Hot Shot (North Ridge Book 3) epic bisexual love triangle or possiblyven a relationship that developed between all three main characters I m not usually a fan of love triangles but I would definitely put my irritation to one side for a story like that Unfortunately that isn t what this story is about so I Math Basics 6 ended up feeling incredibly disappointed I don t think that s necessarily the author s fault but whoever was in charge of writing that marketing tag line definitely did the book a disservice Hopefully if you go into it without that samexpectation you ll Voyage to the Underworld (Star Wars Missions, end upnjoying the story much than I didThis book is told from three different points of view which should really allow us to get to know all of the main characters but for some reason I never really connected with any of them The POVs of Mira and Jeremy weren t too bad but the way Sebby s sections were written was completely jarring and the left me feeling completely disconnected from anything that s sections were written was completely jarring and the left me feeling completely disconnected from anything that to him His POV should have been the one that moved me most he was really going through some very tough times but I felt so distanced from him that I didn t The First Ghost even come to like him that much and I struggled to see why both Mira and Jeremy were so drawn to him He was supposed to be the bri. Mira va ampezar de cero n un nuevo instituto justo un año después de ue su gran aventura acabara n l hospital Ha prometido a sus padres ue se va a comportar como una persona normalSebby parece llevar la luz del sol allá donde va. ,
Ghtest character someone they both adored but I just didn t feel itI didn t really believe in the romance ither which was incredibly disappointing The most realistic relationship was the friendship that developed between Mira and Jeremy I really felt like they cared about ach other and were there for ach other but I didn t feel any chemistry or romantic love between them Sebby was a bit too distant and the way he kept so many secrets and held the others at arms length just didn t work for me There was also one particular scene between the three of them possibly the scene that was inspiration for the tag line that made me feel really uncomfortable it never uite felt that all three of them were on board with what was happening and it seemed like their actions sprung from too much alcohol rather than any real desire they felt I was also uncomfortable about the actions of a certain teacher he doesn t Humanism exactly do anything wrong but he definitely oversteps boundaries and I wasxtremely upset by the way things played out when they turned to him for help with a major problem they were having It felt a bit like it was sending a message to teenagers saying that going to an adult for help is just going to make matters worse so you re best off keeping silent and I don t think that s a helpful message to giveI have to give Kate Scelsa kudos for having such a diverse cast of characters though and she really does touch on some difficult issues We get some interesting insights into drug addiction living in foster care coping with mental health issues coming from a mixed race family having two gay parents and Smokin' Hot even uestioning your own sexuality and I definitelynjoyed that about the story Unfortunately the rest of the story fell flat and it didn t really feel like any of them had achieved much by the Placing Memory end of the book I was hoping to see them grow up and become comfortable in their own skins but I was left feeling that they were right back where they started only this time they had become codependent onach other for their survivalThoughts before reading The story of a girl her gay best friend and the boy who falls in love with both of them It only took one line of that blurb now I HAVE to read this Nope not a fan I liked all of the characters but I just really I mean REALLY disliked the writing style On top of being dull it felt disjointed and awkward Also there are three different POV s and three different tenses of writing for ach uh no Unfortunately this just wasn t the book for me Sooo many motions right now humans SO MANY EMOTIONS I thought this was going to be a solid 5 star read but there just a few niggling details that I wasn t okay with so it s basically a 45 star read and it s STUPENDOUS and I loved it and wow I m not a very motional reader gah I know It s a failing But I felt totally caught up in this book It glued itself to my soul IT JUST DID I wanted to laugh and cry and maybe break a brick wall and definitely craved pizza I am a fan of this book har har did you get it DID YOU Okaynever pizza I am a fan of this book har har did you get it DID YOU Okaynever do I ven sum up its beautifulness It s about three kids Jeremy Mira and Sebby and they Wanton Nights each narrate a bit but all in a different style Jeremy is in 1st person Mira is in 3rd and Sebby who doesn t have a lot of chapters is in 2nd person IT WAS INCREDIBLE I ve never read a book that used all 3 before and it flowed and I m such a fan I swear I ll stop saying fan soonxceptmaybe I won t because PUN HAAnd we gotta talk about these characters I loved them ALL They were all sodimensional Like they felt real and I felt so so connected I just wanted to hug them all forever And they re incredibly messed up Omg adorable little messed up darlings MIRA Wow Mira I just adored her I JUST DID She wasn t skinny and struggled with her self image and she loved thrift shopping me too although I don t do it for artI do it because I m stingey and she had chronic fatigue and depression And she was just so relatable My soul BURNED for her when people just dismissed her depression as nothing and something she could control if she really wanted to Omg no no noooo And her depression was written SO PERFECTLY WOW SEBBY I always love the messed up broken sassy characters so so much and Sebby was no While My Soldier Serves exception ADORABLE LITTLE FOOL I wanted to strangle him at thend but ya know in a good way He was impeccably written I loved his sass and his uips and how he was just this xplosion of life and colour and glitter He gay and a foster kid and has had a tortured past too JEREMY I got worried when we were introduced to Jeremy because he sshy Don t get me wrong I LOVE SHY I am shy But so often
